White Haven develops a new park that provides safe pedestrian access between the community, library and the Delaware and Lehigh Trail.
Our new Rail Yard park is a welcoming green space for visitors and community members, and is located close to our down town area. There are native trees, flowers, seating and activity spaces. An ADA compliant walkway connects our library and visitor center to the Main Street businesses, the other residential areas and the parking lot located next to the G&A Hardware store.
There’s additional lighting, an improved parking lot, and fencing along the street and rail line. The park is unique to the White Haven story, with artifacts and signage inserted into the area which help tell the historical background of our town and region.
All this is possible through a generous private donation and two separate Commonwealth grants, which promote recreation throughout the region.
